I don't have a Facebook page. A does. I figure the people I care about will know what I'm up to through her page plus I have no desire to "reconnect" with people I went to school with and pretend we're friends now. I have no time for them now, just like they had no time for me then. (Do you sense my hostility? I'll save that for a future post.)
Now A is 14 years older than me and we have been together since I was 23 and she was 37. Obviously she was on the market longer than I and so she's racked up a higher number of ex-lovers than I have. Some of these people she has maintained friendships with; others she has not has contact with for more than 20 years. She has always been open and I'm not the jealous type. I'm comfortable and confident of where I stand in our relationship.
Facebook does offer some interesting peeks into the past though. Occasionally there will be a former lover who will contact her. Today was one of those. She shook her head and asked me, "What was I thinking?" My reply is pretty much the same everytime, "You were drunk, high and horny".

You two clearly have a great relationship. I envy you.
Love, SB.
LOL.... I found your blog via Jude and read many of your postings, and am still laughing!
Nice to find you - even if it wasn't on facebook!
Thanks for the laugh today.
Facebook is scary sometimes.
A needs to find me on Facebook! I didn't realize you were the same age apart as Ash and I...you have NO idea how much I "get" this post!!!
ha! good ole facebook.
i love your response :)
Oh Good Grief! Not Facebook! Mel, please don't get me started with Facebook!!! :) I WAS on there, but I got out before the whole world find me on there (and by the whole world, I mean, my ex, my former friends...co-workers...well, they found me much to my chagrin). Now I just have my blog! ha! So much for "lowering my on-line presence.." ;) Can't wait to read/hear about your Facebook Story!
Do not discount the drunk, high, and horny method of meeting people. Seriously.
