The weekend isn't over yet, is it?!

Whoa, this weekend is almost over, I'm facing an incredibly busy, balls-to-the-wall week and I'm more exhausted than ever! Tonight is A's last night of  petsitting and tomorrow she will be home with me. I can't wait!!!! I've seen her everyday but it's pathetic how dependent we are on each other.

Saturday I had to work a booth at the local business expo. I had the joy of standing around greeting people, handing out freebies and representing our clinic. Really that means that I had to fake friendliness and interest 6 days this week instead of 4-5. No wonder I feel exhausted. Since I had this commitment, A went that morning to meet one of the other ladies we work with in rescue. She had some dog food for us and other donated items. When A got there the lady asked if we would be willing to take on a 6 month old foster puppy. She had this little girl and her sister and wanted to get them separated before they became too bonded. A calls to talk to me about it but I could tell she had already made up her mind to bring the little girl home. She had called me to talk her out of it. Yeah, right! Like I'm the one to call. This brings us up to 6 dogs-4 of our own and 2 fosters.

Her name is Jayna and she's up for adoption! *hint, hint, wink, wink*  She really is a sweetie but then again she is a puppy and not well liked by my calm, older dogs. She is friendly and at her age she will be adopted quickly.

This is what happens when you try to take pictures of a curious, hyper puppy. First she attacks my camera strap then smears her wet nose all over my lens.
Looking cute. This will definitely be a good Petfinder picture of her.

After I finished the business expo I went to meet A and go for dinner. We went out for Indian food and since neither one of us really knew what we wanted we ordered a dinner for two that offered a variety of dishes. I have to say I enjoyed everything except the lamb. It was good but I've never been a fan. Then it was back to the ex's house for some fuckery. The ex's wife ChiChi works with this woman Sue that they refer to as the work wife. She follows ChiChi around like a puppy and originally was the one who was going to pet sit. We had been teasing them that while they were gone Sue was going to cut Mimi's head out of all the family pictures and insert her own. We decided to print off a few pictures of Sue from Facebook and tape them over Mimi's head. We only did 3 so I wonder how long before it's noticed.

Today I was up early, did 3 loads of laundry and gave six dog baths before taking a shower myself and heading out for my nephew's 10th birthday party. At least 10 year olds are past the Chucky Cheese stage. That fucking singing mouse gives me nightmares. We went bowling, played laser tag and video games. Not a terrible way to spend an afternoon.

By the way, for anyone interested, A and I did the deed in the ex's bed. ;) Honestly I doubt we would have if ChiChi had not made it a point to tell us not to. Let me say, spite sex is really great and we swore it will remain our secret...for now.

I'm Going to Have to Change My Phone Number

I'll start from the beginning. Twelve years ago I dated this guy (Pete) for a short time. Actually, it was supposed to be convenient sex for me but whatever. Anyway, after a few weeks he tried to make it a "relationship" and started talking marriage and children. I was so outta there!! Honestly, I could not stand the idiot; we didn't have a single thing in common except great sexual chemistry. I tried to break it off and be civil-he didn't get it. I finally resorted to being rude and nasty-that just lead him to start stalking behavior. This continued on-and-off for years, even after I started dating A. It finally culminated with him drunk, cornering me in a parking lot and threatening me. He was trying to argue and wouldn't let me get in my car. I told him to call me when he was sober if he wanted to talk. He grabbed me and I punched him in the nose (see my dad's self-defense lessons paid off). He let go of me long enough I could get in my car. As I started it and tried to drive off, he jumped on the hood of my car. Honestly, I just floored it and I didn't care if I ran his stupid ass over! He rolled off the hood and fell in the parking lot; I just kept driving. After that he tried to call and apologize; I berated him and told him to fuck off and he finally backed off.

Fast forward to this summer. In July, my mom begged me and A to go to the county fair with her and my nephews. We ran into Pete there and he actually came over to talk to all of us. All I said to the man was hello; A and my mom did all the talking. Three weeks later, I pick up my phone and see I missed a call and have a new voicemail. I checked the number-it looked familiar but couldn't place it. I was just starting to check my voicemail and my phone rings again. I answer and it's Pete. Fuck me was all I could think. He was so drunk I could hardly understand a word he was saying. Basically what I could figure out was he had seen me at the fair and wanted to call and apologize. I told him it wasn't necessary but I appreciated it and then got off the phone as quickly as possible. The voicemail he had left was basically the same thing and I managed to record it off my phone onto my mp3 player. I may still upload it if possible. Boy, did A and I have a good laugh at that message!!

A week before Thanksgiving, I'm on my way home and my phone rings. I assumed it was A and answered. It was Pete again. This time he was sober and called to apologize again for his past behavior and for calling me when he was so drunk. He started talking about how he was trying to make changes in his life and really felt he needed to apologize. I accepted and told him I hope he can finally change himself and get some closure on the situation. We then had pleasant conversation, caught up on his/my family, what he's doing for work these days, etc. I wished him good luck and hung up.

This past Thursday my phone rings again and Pete is once again on the other end. This time he's been drinking and is talking like an idiot. He was talking about the past and I realized how much he had built up the relationship we had into some great love story. He then started making sexual comments and actually had the nerve to invite me to go on a weekend trip with him. I told him absolutely not and reminded him I was happily "married" to A. He then started commented on how he couldn't believe I was still with "that dyke" and mumbling some other things I'm probably glad I didn't understand. Now honestly, the vindictive bitch in me wanted to let him have it and insult a heterosexual man the one place it truly hurts-their manhood and sexual performance but the rational part of my brain won out this time. I thought if I start it he may start his stalking again so I just told him to never call me again and hung up on him. If he calls one more time, I'm changing my phone number. That really sucks too-I've had this number a long time.

One side note though. I received very little satisfaction from hanging up on him. I really miss the old days when you had the heavy phone receiver that you could slam down and the person on the other end got the loud clunk in the ear. Pushing the "end" button and the quick cut-off just doesn't do it for me.

Miss Scarlett, Miss Scarlett, The Yankee's are Coming!

Not really the Yankees, but the ex-gf of A.

I came home from work yesterday afternoon and A tells me she received an email from the ex telling us she and her partner are going to be in our town Saturday and would like to stop in at our house. That's right, they invited themselves to our home. A being the gracious host she always is told them to stop in for coffee and gave them directions. Me, being my usual suspicious self, told A they are just coming to snoop. She just laughed, gave me a hug and agreed.

I've been cleaning for hours. I have been to their home and it's not spectacular or neat, but I want our home to be spotless when they arrive. I have even been shampooing carpets! I keep asking myself why I'm so nuts right now about having our home just so when they arrive. We have a small modest house and it is certainly nothing spectacular either, but it is OUR home. We purchased it together and have spent the last 8 years remodeling from the inside out, floor to ceiling.

A's ex spent many years criticizing and belittling her; she always wanted to live beyond what A could provide and never let her forget it. She has made a couple comments about how the second wife gets all the good stuff, good vacations, house, etc. Yes, maybe we have more than they did but we are both professionals who work full-time and have earned everything we have ourselves; no handouts from anyone. I'm not going to feel guilty about it and I will not let A feel guilty either!

A's ex has now met a woman who can finance the life she wanted to live all along. They have a child together, just adopted a second, bought the old Victorian house and she gets to be a stay-at-home mom (no offense to stay-at-home moms-I know it's work).

I just love A so much and I don't want her feeling like she is any less than the wonderful. beautiful person I know she is. I am fiercely protective of her, especially when it comes to this ex. I know I'm likely getting myself worked up for nothing; the visit will go fine but I like to be prepared. My guard is up...Now I will finish my cleaning.

Sunday I woke up in a strange position...

Saturday A and I were invited to her ex's home again. Mimi (the ex) and her wife, ChiChi wanted to have a BBQ, drinks and visit with another mutual friend. Now I must make a side note that ChiChi would beat me if she knew I called her by that name-it would insult her butchness, but I will move on and have a chuckle at her expense.

It was a great evening; good food, good conversation, reminiscing about old times, and lots of laughs. A and ChiChi were enjoying their beers while Mimi and I tried Ice Tea Vodka mixed with lemonade. It was great and I highly recommend it but I'm not a big drinker and by midnight I was spinning. We live 45 minutes away so we had to stay overnight. ChiChi set us up in their daughter's room and gave us each a pair of her PJ's, toothbrushes and water. So here A and I are, laying in her ex's bed, at her ex's house, in the new wife's PJs, across the hall from their bedroom. Let's just say it all felt a bit strange, especially in my altered state. Not to mention A was feeling frisky.

Sunday morning arrives and A and I wake up to Mimi knocking on the door. She comes in wearing her nightgown and parks herself on the foot of the bed and starts gabbing to us. A and I were laying there with hazy eyes and the quilt pulled up to our chins. She leaves so we can get dressed and come down for breakfast. A turns to me and says "Did you have a sense of deja'vu?"
Oh, yes it was deja'vu but the last time was much more awkward and just plain ugly! Ten years ago, almost to the day, Mimi had used A's spare key to let herself in A's apartment to "catch us in the act". She found us in the bed alright but thankfully we weren't in the act. No matter though, it was an ugly scene that included screaming, breaking dishes and lots of hard feelings.

We had breakfast, thanked them for their hospitality, and went home. By the way, for those wondering we did not complete the act in their house. I had the spins and my stomach would not allow any lovin'. Damn it!
